Grand theft auto online players have found a simple trick to bypass the frustrating ‘black screen’ glitch which can occur during the diamond casino heist prep missions.
The diamond casino heist was introduced to GTA online in december 2019 and has become one of the most popular missions on the game for the massive rewards that it offers.
However, some players have encountered glitches while setting up to loot the casino, which can slow their playthrough or even prevent them from finishing this popular heist.

How to fix the casino heist black screen glitch in GTA online
As with other heists in GTA online, the casino heist requires you to complete a certain set of prep missions before you can raid the diamond casino, and while these are fairly straightforward, they have been causing players some issues.
Players have noticed a strange bug where it can take them a bit too long to load into a prep mission, leaving them with a black screen glitch in missions such as 'vault explosives'.
One GTA player u/yourhighuncle revealed a simple trick to fix the black screen glitch and get straight into the action. Here’s what you’ll need to do.
- If you're on console, you will need to disconnect your xbox or ps4 controller. If you're playing on PC, you will have to simply disconnect your keyboard.
- You will then need to simply reconnect your keyboard or controller after a few seconds.
- After waiting for a few more seconds, you should spawn into the diamond casino heist mission, completely bypassing this unusual bug.

A similar trick has also been found which can skip GTA online's notoriously long loading times after starting the game, an issue that has left many players frustrated.
The diamond casino has already seen some strange glitches, since it was introduced, with one exploit even allowing players to choose the rewards they want from the heist.
GTA online glitch is making the casino heist impossible to complete
Rockstar games might want to look into a grand theft auto online glitch that is preventing players from successfully completing the diamond casino heist.
The game developers would have been delighted to see a record number of players flock to their online mode when the diamond casino and resort first opened in july last year, not to mention how many returned to steal it following the introduction of a special heist for the gambling venue.
With weekly content updates, GTA online players have even been given the opportunity to pick up diamonds in the rewards too, making it a highly lucrative opportunity for members of the community. However, after completing all of the steps to get to the final mission, some have found a bug in the actual heist that's stopping them from escaping with the loot.
Rockstar games GTA online players can make serious cash in the casino, but not when bugs are spoiling things.
The heist is broken up into different parts, which includes a few different routes to enter the vault where money, diamonds, and gold bars can be found. Some ways of getting inside are easier than others, although they all take time.
With that said, some are getting inside the vault, hacking their way into rooms to collect their takings, only to find that the door has slammed shut behind them. Clearly, this means that they are then unable to exit and ultimately die to the security system gas once the timer runs out.
This issue can be seen in a reddit post from 'itsnotvortex,' below. They asked: "anyone else had this glitch?" and a fair few responded, claiming to have experienced the same thing as well.
One user responded by claiming when this layout of loot appears, one cart room is usually bugged, while another stated that they had seen the bug only when completing the heist using an aggressive approach. Another joked that the casino might have stepped up their security efforts, but that's obviously not true.
Whether or not many players have been impacted by this problem is unclear, although it is clear that a handful – at least – have been left frustrated by it. After all, checking off all of those setup tasks and then not being able to complete the heist at the end isn't ideal. The heist itself could be worth up to $2,115,000, and even higher when diamonds are included in the loot.
Players will be hoping that rockstar rolls out a hotfix for the problem soon, hopefully before these diamonds leave the game.
GTA online bug is completely changing diamond heist approaches
GTA online players have been encountering a strange bug that is changing up their diamond heist attempts – altering their entry position and how the robbery plays out.
After years of waiting, GTA online fans finally got what they’d been asking for on december 12, access to the casino in vinewood. Aside from gambling away with their GTA cash, players also wanted to take things a step further by being able to loot the casino’s vault.
As a result, the diamond heist was launched, letting players go on an ocean’s eleven style robbery – complete with different vault contents, robbery disguises, and getaway vehicles. Players can choose whether to go in loud, sneakily, or pull of a con – but the latter is being affected by a bug.

The change in entry point was noted by reddit user finnman0907 , who showcased a video from their recent diamond heist attempt. They rolled up to the casino as a part of the bugstars con but managed to set off the guard at the back door.
The gang sort of blew their cover, attacking the security guard and causing their entry to bug out. Though, after a pretty long loading screen, they had been transported elsewhere. Instead of entering the casino through the staff lobby, they were dropped where the gruppe sachs con would begin – with the armored money truck thrown in for good measure.
After showing off the video, some redditor’s responded and claimed that the bug had actually helped finnman0907, as they were able to do the heist through an easier method.
Others noted that the bug has been around for a little while and you will always end up with the gruppe sachs robbery. Yet, your cover will be blown once you’ve robbed the contents of the vault.
Whether or not rockstar will fix it, however, remains to be seen but players won’t complain about an easier heist. It means money at the end of the day.

The casino heist - the big con is a heist featured in grand theft auto online as part of the diamond casino heist update. It is one of the three possible approaches for the casino heist mission.
Description
The big con approach is focused on the players using disguises to gain access to the basement of the casino to steal the loot, then optionally using a new disguise to evade the enemies during the getaway or fighting their way out.
Unlike the other two approaches, each method requires a specific entry in order to maintain their cover. Failing to keep the disguise will alert the guards, therefore switching to an aggressive method.
All weapon loadouts have the ceramic pistol as the secondary weapon, provided to pass through metal detectors with no problem.
Possible disguises
- Bugstars: to select this entry option, the heist leader first has to complete the "bugstar gear part 1 & part 2" prep missions. The crew disguises as bugstars employees and heads to the casino in a bugstars burrito and equipped with 10 tear gas cans. Security guards will indicate that agatha baker's office is infested, so the crew heads over there. Once they reach the office, one player must hack a level 3 security panel to get access to the elevator, requiring to complete four fingerprint hacking minigames to access it. Once there, they have to sneak through the keypads by evading or knocking out the guards.
- Maintenance: to select this entry option, the heist leader first has to complete the "maintenance gear part 1 & part 2" prep missions. The crew disguises as LSDWP maintenance technicians and heads to the casino in a LSDWP boxville. Security guards will indicate that there is a leak in the laundry room, so the crew heads over there. From there, the crew can make their way through the basement by avoiding the security guards from the restricted areas.
- Gruppe sechs: to select this entry option, the heist leader must have scoped out the security tunnel and then has to complete the "gruppe sechs gear part 1 & part 2" prep missions. The crew disguises as gruppe sechs guards and head to the casino's access door near the vinewood racetrack in a stockade. The driver then goes through the tunnel leading to a loading bay, guarded by a security checkpoint. From there, the crew can move freely through the area to get into the vault room.
- Yung ancestor: to select this entry option, the heist leader first has to encounter yung ancestor and complete the prep missions "dead weight" & "after party". The crew disguises as yung's guests and goes to the management area. A cutscene plays where yung and brucie are discussing about getting in the back of the office, after which the office receptionist insists that it is not possible. As the receptionist gets in the office, yung sets up the plan by pulling out a handgun, while brucie points that the keycard is there. Yung shoots brucie in the leg, drawing attention of the receptionist, but yung hides the weapon, telling her that brucie shot himself. The receptionist then attends brucie and yung gets inside the office, but before that, yung tells the crew to get the keycard and get out of there. From there, the crew has to avoid detection from the guards to get into the basement.
Vault
Once the players get to the vault, they need to drill the door locks to open the vault door and get the loot before a failsafe is triggered, activating the nerve agent. If undetected, players have more time inside the vault, but they have to sort out level 3 security locks to open the doors inside the vault.
After exiting the vault, the crew has to get outside the casino by avoiding the guards, which were alerted by the robbery. Lester warns the crew that the police was also alerted.
Exit points
The crew has the option to exit the casino via one of the five entry points from the other two approaches. Note that by choosing the roof terrace or helipad exit point, players will require parachutes, which can be found at these locations.
If remained undetected, the crew can go to the laundry room to get either the NOOSE uniform (if the NOOSE gear prep is completed), the firefighter uniform (if the firefighter gear prep is completed) or the "high roller" set (if the 54 playing cards have been collected). This allows the crew to get to the exit without drawing attention from the guards. This room also serves as the location of the main weapon, depending of the weapon loadout.
Once outside, the area is surrounded by LSPD and NOOSE officers, so the crew has to avoid them to make their way to the getaway vehicles and lose the wanted level. If the crew fails to remain undetected, they have to fight against them instead. After losing the cops, the crew can safely drive to the buyer's location to complete the heist.

The pacific standard job is the final part of the pacific standard heist in grand theft auto online and also the last mission of the heists strand.
Description
A cutscene plays where lester will brief the crew about the heist. At first, he seem to act a bit weird, but he then blames the new meds he took. He then resumes to the brief, where one group has to control the crowd while the rest of them should take care of the vault. The crew then splits into three roles: a hacker, a demolition player and two crowd control players.
The crew is instructed to go at the pacific standard bank. Lester instructs the crowd control team to control the crowd inside the bank, while the hacker and demolition player should get to the vault. He also insist to not kill any civilian.
Once inside, a small cutscene plays, where one player locks the doors and the others prepare their masks and special carbines. Once the cutscene ends, the group plan their respective approaches.
The crew has to take the security guards and the crowd control team keeps the civilians in the room, so the police will not be alerted sooner than expected. They are instructed to not kill anyone, otherwise the situation will get worse. While the team takes care of the crowd, the demolition player sets the thermal charges on two security gates, so they can burn the locks and open them. Once inside, more security guards will appear in an attempt to stop the crew.
Once down to the vault's level, the hacker must complete a hacking minigame to open the vault. A third security gate needs to be open with another thermal charge. Once inside, the hacker and the demolition player should work together to grab the cash from two carts. Security guards may appear while grabbing the cash, so one has to be prepared to take them out or let one of the crowd control team to do so.
Once the cash is stolen, the crew has to reunite at the bank entrance, where they have to plan the escape. The alarm is activated and a 5-star wanted level is triggered. Another cutscene plays where the LSPD (and NOOSE, if the crowd control team fails to control the civilians) arrive at the scene. One player will open the door before a bullet hits the door, showing the police's brutality. The crew then loads their special carbines to fight.
From the entrance, the crew can opt to switch their special carbines to any weapon of choice and take out any police officer from near the entrance. The crew is instructed to follow the getaway route, which leads to an alleyway near the bank. From there, several police officers will appear through the alleyway, as well as a few officers spawning behind the team once they enter the alleyway. After taking a turn to the right, more officers will appear near the gopostal building, so the crew have to take them out before reaching to the apartment building where the lectros were left.
After reaching the bikes, the crew now has to make their getaway by sorting out several police cruisers, as well as roadblocks. The crew has to make use of the lectro's KERS functionality to outrun any possible police unit and avoid roadblocks. Pursuing units can be dangerous, as one could be easily dismounted from the bike, thus losing valuable time. The crew then follows the set route to the canyon, where a few sheriff suvs with a single LSSD officer will spawn attempting to block the crew's path.
Once the crew managed to arrive at the canyon, they must navigate to the bridge, jump off the cliff, bail out of the bikes and parachute to the dinghy, provided to escape via the river. Once all four players in the dinghy go past the bridge, the boat will drive off and the heist ends.
Lester congratulates and celebrates with the crew in jubilation over the success of the heist, complimenting them for being "silent, creepy weirdos with talent". He will say that he will never forget the moments he shared with the crew, with the picnic, the hiking on the woods and their sharings of their inner fears, before realising that it was the wrong memory and that it never happened with the crew, to which he blames the drugs he took for being "a heavily-medicated man". Lester then resumes to wire the money to them on the laptop before bidding them farewell. The crew is shown looking toward the skyline of the city afterwards, before being moved back to the factory entrance and regaining control on freemode.
Casino heist - maximum payout, vault time & contents, daily cash secret vault

The vault you are looting in GTA online's diamond casino heist can contain anything from cash and artwork to gold, or even diamonds. The payout varies depending on which type of content you find. Cash is the most common loot, followed by artwork, gold and finally diamonds.
Maximum potential payouts & vault contents
The value of your heist haul and maximum potential payout increases as the rarity of the vault content increases. In table below we show you the maximum potential payout and take that you can expect for each type of vault content. The amounts listed are before lester's cut (which will be 5% of the total score), any take penalties (see 'avoid damage' below), paying your crew and of course splitting the remaining take with your fellow players (the casino heist finale is a 2-4 person heist).

Note that the first time you do the heist you will always get cash, and on subsequent attempts you might get artwork, gold or diamonds. It's preferable to get artwork over cash not only because you earn more, but the paintings themselves are actually easier / faster to loot. As you can see in the table above, gold and finally diamonds are easily the most profitable types of loot though.

Which loot you will receive is completely random, but some loot will appear more often than others. In fact, it correlates to the maximum potential payout of the loot types. So cash is most common, followed by artwork and so on through to diamonds. Note, however, that it appears rockstar has the ability to adjust the probability of getting a particular type of loot. For example, during the valentines day events of 2020, it was observed that obtaining diamonds (usually the rarest) became a lot more common/easy.
Approach hard mode
When doing the casino heist you cannot use the same approach twice in a row (it will be locked). However, you can return to a previous approach if you use a different approach in the meantime (like doing aggressive, then big con, then back to aggressive).
The red skull indicates that this approach will be done on "hard mode".
Plus, the approach you are repeating (aggressive in our example) will now have a red skull icon on it (as seen above) indicating that hard mode / higher difficulty will be activated if you proceed with that approach again. This means that the guards will be stronger, there will be more of them and their detection rate will be higher. There will also be six locks to destroy on the vault instead of the normal four, and two fingerprint hacks to do (instead of the regular one).
You do get a monetary bonus for all this added effort though - a 10% increase on the actual potential take versus "regular" difficulty! You can check out a video of us doing hard mode and looting diamonds here.
The hard mode prep board when looting diamonds using the big con approach
Avoid damage
There's also no guarantee that you will walk away with the exact amount stated in this guide because as you get into combat situations and take damage you will lose a small amount of money for every hit you take. The amount lost is between 0.12% - 0.26% of the total cash you are carrying at the time. In practice, this means about $2,000 lost per shot.
That's why we always recommend you choose either the big con approach or the silent & sneaky approach for maximum profit, even if they are bit daunting. The aggressive approach is fun and quick, but you risk losing quite a bit of your take due to amount of damage you will inevitably suffer.
Crew and lester's cuts
When calculating your final payout you also need to take your crew members' and lester's cuts into consideration. Lester will take 5% of the total amount and your crew (hacker, driver, etc) payments will vary depending on who you have chosen.
After that it is time for you and your heist-mates (the finale heist is for between 2 to 4 players) to split the percentages amongst yourselves. If two players carry out the heist then you can walk away anywhere between GTA$400,000 to GTA$800,000 each.
Looting diamonds
The ability to loot diamonds from the casino was actually locked when rockstar first released the diamond casino heist content. However, we then discovered that it was unlocked during the week of february 18, 2020 (i.E. For valentine's day).
It has now been confirmed that rockstar has the ability to turn diamonds loot on and off, and that they will enable it for certain events, promotions or other significant dates.
Looting diamonds lets you take the maximum possible payout from the diamond casino heist, which is $3.619 million. Once your support crew and lester's cut are taken out, the amount left for players is $2,714,250.
Vault time
Maximising the amount of time you get inside the vault is essential. Every second counts when it comes to looting it.
Whenever choosing the hacker for your heist we recommend that you always go for the best hackers available, which are paige harris and avi schwartzman. Paige is available by default and takes 9% of the cut. She gives you 3 minutes and 15 seconds in the vault. Avi takes 10% of the cut and gives you 3 minutes 30 seconds. We recommend avi as 15 seconds extra can really make a difference in your end payout.
Paige & avi on the prep board
The time it takes for the animations to play out while you're looting must be considered when working out the time you'll have to work in the vault. On top of that, if you're carrying out the casino heist using either the big con approach or the silent & sneaky approach you must leave the vault before the timer runs out if you want to exit undetected. So adding those extra 15 seconds with avi will allow you to loot the maximum possible content, increasing your final take.
Daily cash secret vault
During the heist you can also grab some extra cash from the secret vault, which is on the ground floor right next to the elevator. The switch to open up the secret vault door is in the CCTV room next to the elevator. You can expect somewhere between $50,000 to $100,000 to be in there. It will vary from heist to heist though.

If you grab the cash from this secret vault you also get an award for doing so called the "daily cash grab", it gives you a 100 RP bonus too.
Overall heist cap limit
The cap on the maximum overall amount you can take in a single heist is GTA$3.619 million. This means that even if you somehow get more than that capped amount, it will be of no use since the maximum you will be able to walk away with is still just GTA$3.619 million. This max amount is possible when you loot diamonds only.
Gold bar glitch
There was a glitch (now patched) which would let you respawn gold bars after you had collected all but the last one. Once you were left with just one gold bar on the tray, you could just back out of the grabbing animation and start taking them again. Then when you were in the grabbing position again, the gold would respawn. The glitch only worked once per gold cart/tray.
By using this glitch some players were reportedly able to "get" up to $4-$5 million. However, even so, due to the aforementioned GTA$3.6 million cap, they still only took away that lower amount. This also means that any other "glitches" that supposedly let you grab more than $3.6 million are useless.
